Payment & Booking Schedule Because the lodge must coordinate river transport and fresh supplies weeks in advance, payment timelines are strict. • Deposit: A 30% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your dates. • Final Balance: The remaining 75%–70% is due 60 days before your arrival. • Last-Minute Bookings: Any reservation made within 60 days of the start date requires 100% payment at the time of booking.
Cancellation & Refund Policy Operating in the jungle involves high fixed costs. Expect a tiered refund structure: • 30–59 Days Out: You forfeit 50% of the total trip cost. • Under 30 Days: 100% non-refundable. No-shows or early departures from the camp are also non-refundable.
Mandatory Travel Insurance Due to the remote nature of the Arajuno River, travel insurance is a contractual requirement. • Medical Evacuation: Your policy must include Emergency Medical Evacuation (MEDEVAC) coverage. If a medical emergency occurs, boat and air transport out of the jungle can cost thousands of dollars. • Trip Interruption: Ensure your policy covers “Force Majeure” events like landslides or river flooding which could block access to the site.
Health and Physical Requirements • Assumption of Risk: You will likely be asked to sign a Liability Waiver acknowledging the inherent risks of the Amazon (wildlife, uneven terrain, river activities). • Fitness Level: You must certify that you are in good physical health. Standard activities involve getting in/out of canoes, kayaking for 2+ hours, and hiking on muddy, sloped trails. • Age Limits: While family-friendly, children under 18 must be accompanied by a legal guardian at all times.
Itinerary Flexibility & Force Majeure In the Amazon, nature is in charge. • The “Rainforest Clause”: The operator reserves the right to modify itineraries without notice due to weather, river levels, or safety concerns. • Wildlife: Any kind of wildlife mentioned on the itinerary is not guarantee. • Liability Limitation: The lodge is generally not responsible for delays caused by airline strikes, national protests (common in Ecuador), or natural disasters.
On-Site Conduct & Sustainability Arajuno River Glamping is deeply integrated with the local Kichwa community and has a “Zero Waste” goal. • Sustainability Rules: Use of non-biodegradable soaps or leaving trash behind is strictly prohibited. • Smoking/Alcohol: Smoking is usually prohibited inside the canvas tents (fire hazard/smell). Excessive alcohol consumption that leads to disruptive behavior is grounds for removal without a refund. • Wildlife Protection: Guests are prohibited from feeding, handling, or disturbing wildlife or removing any flora from the reserve.
